The Company

We are a residential training centre for the arts, located just outside the town of Bridgwater. We to offer a series of residential training courses for people working in the arts to access the training and skills needed to develop their careers. Courses range from specific skills and knowledge, artists talks and business training. Courses take place all year round and can be on a week or weekend basis. To complement courses we also run a series of other events – these can include exhibitions, lectures and screenings. We hire our facilities to other businesses or individuals for private events and can be adapted to meet a variety of needs.


The Role

The marketing coordinator will handle our social media presence, PR and website. The successful candidate will be responsible for our marketing output, familiar with a variety of social media platforms including Instagram, Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter and be able to ensure a consistent narrative throughout our PR output. This position will entail developing our online profile, communicating our offer and engaging new audiences via the Clayhill Arts website, social media platforms and industry journals.

Job Specification

Working closely with your line manager and other members of the team in co-ordinating a variety of cohesive and personable marketing campaigns

  • Manage the existing website, updating information and photographs and carry out search engine optimisation
  • Manage and co-ordinate marketing campaigns, both online and through PR to maintain brand visibility
  • Update essential information and produce copy for social media platforms
  • Take responsibility for creating new campaigns and developing marketing strategies, whilst responding to business needs and the brand
  • Research and evaluate new social media platforms and online sources for future campaigns
  • Create and co-ordinate PR campaigns across a variety of media and industry journals to ensure a consistent message
  • Gather content and produce copy for the newsletter, maintain email news list and handle enquires
  • Regularly assess and evaluate the success of marketing campaigns and adapt to changing media environments
  • Attend events held here at take photos and video for marketing purposes and ensure permissions from the public
  • Edit and post pictures and video online, manage feedback and maintain professional standards

About you

    • Have experience and expertise in a variety of social media platforms
    • Have experience of website management using the WordPress platform and Woocomerce
    • Have an eye for detail and take pride in producing creative and successful marketing messages
    • Have experience of writing copy, taking photos and video and file management
    • Have some experience of photoshop and video editing software
    • Apply a creative approach to developing new marketing campaigns and evaluating their success
    • Have an interest or experience in the arts
    • Be professional in your communication with others, either via email, phone or through face to face interaction with the public
    • The ability to be flexible in meeting the various needs and operating hours of the business
    • Work well with other people, be able to take instruction and respond to changing business needs
    • Be able to take responsibility for planning and organising your own work, finding creative solutions to problems and integrate them into the business
    • Happy to help others with their work when things get busy, be flexible and be able to stay calm in stressful situations
    • Be able to work independently, be self motivated and able to maintain personal standards
